Password reset question

For some reason, I can't access one of my Astaro firewall using SSH or console login: I always get a "access denied" error (loginuser, root, admin, whatever). I think I must have somehow managed to type in the wrong password for console access (loginuser).

So, I want to do a password reset. My questions are:

1/ If I limit access to the web admin interface to a single IP before doing the reset, will that setting be conserved during the procedure ?
2/ Will the procedure affect users already connected through the firewall ?

you should be able to get into single-user mode from the LILO prompt and reset the root password.
(assuming you didn't set a LILO password)

At the linux prompt, type
?
and then
single
where = the full name of the astaro kernel

Thank you for your answer, but what you propose is WAY more disruptive than using the password reset option in the web interface

Anyone got an answer to my 2 questions regarding Astaro 5.023 ?
