I'm going to be working on an ASL-5 installation (unlimited/high availability). So, I'm looking at hardware and trying to figure out what to get. The Dell and HP/Compaq stuff listed on the Hardware Compatability List is way overpriced.
I'd like to get something where the RAID is supported, but that's not a 100% requirement. We use a lot of SuperMicro servers around here so that's what I'm thinking of using for this install as well.
Specifically, the SuperMicro 5013S-8. I'll probably experiment with that Adaptec Zero Channel RAID controller too (2010S).
Just wondering if anyone out there has used SuperMicro servers with ASL. Or if anyone's had any experiences with the Zero Channel Raid solutions they incorporate.
We have several SuperMicro servers here with the Zero Channel Raid and Redhat-ES-2.1 supports it just fine and dandy, so perhaps there is hope. Of course, I am open to other brands as well, so please let me know if you've got any recommendations.
