This might interest some of you.
I installed ASL 5.001 from CD on a 400MHz/256MB/8GB-system
Went ok so far. Connected to the internet and let download the new patches via up2date.
It downloaded 5.002 up to 5.016 (5.021 was available at that time)
Then i tried to install 5.002; ASL reported that the 5.002 patch is corrupted and will be deleted. OK.
Tried to ftp the 5.002 patch from the astaro to a separate m$-client. compared it with the newly downloaded 5.002-patch on the ASL. No difference. Was still not able to update the 5.002 patch. Logged in manualy and deleted the 5.002 and subsequent patches from the ASL. Downloaded the 5.002 patch only to the M$-client, moved it over to the ASL and the update/install worked perfect. Did it with 5.003 as well. And 5.004 too.
Tried it with the up2date function again. It downloaded only up to 5.019. And was again unable to install the 5.005. When deleted all the patches again, downloaded 5.005 to the client, moved it to the ASL again i was able to install it.
Reason:
When your partition is to small to cover all the updates it has even no more space to decompress and install a downloaded patch.
But it sends a failure message which is not correct or might be more accurate.
Suggestion to Astaro:
add a notice to the manual or change the failure notice somewhat.
