I try to configure a dsl-connection (german t-dsl) using asl V5 but I cannot get it work. I configured 1 internal (eth0) and 1 dsl (eth1) using pppoe over a allnet all0333 dsl-modem (pppoe) which has an ip-address of 192.168.1.1.
I tried eth1 configuring as pppoe-dsl, address by remote, gateway by remote, username and passwort (of t-online) but the interface is always down. The link between eth1 and the dsl-modem is a normal patch-kabel which is ok cause I made a test configuration eth1 as normal interface (192.168.1.2) and a got a "up". The username and password for t-online is correct cause i use these values for my existing t-dsl router (which is always disconnected when I make the tests).
So:
1. DSL-Modem telling: ADSL, Ethernet-Link is ok
2. Cabling be ok Modem eth1 is ok
3. userdata for t-online is ok (verified with router)
=> It ought to be a problem with the asl-configuration of the eth1
In the pppoe logfile there are several entries of:
2004:09:12-18:17:47 (none) pppoe[29092]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
2004:09:12-18:17:47 (none) pppoe-sh: Can not connect DSL AC - retry in 900 seconds
