Installing Astaro on a portable

Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to install Astaro on a portable without the required 2 NICs. I tried on mine (1 PCI NIC, 2 PCMCIA NICs) but with no success at all. I saw somebody on this forum running it on a portable and I was wondering how he/she did manage to make it run.

I'd be curious as to why you would want to?

I don't remember anyone running on a portable (laptop?) unless it had two PCI based NIC's.

I wanted to install it on a laptop because it takes less space than a desktop, is less noisy and comes with an integrated console.
Unfortunately I do not have a laptop with 2 PCI NICs.
Why does it not support PCMCIA, by the way?
Is there anything I should know about running PCMCIA NICs on a firewall?

check the HCL for pcmcia compatibility..you have to have a compatible pcmcia chipset AND a prism 1-3 pcmcia nic.

You also should try out the homepages of the different Astaro Appliances Partners (under astaro.com or at our homepage). You'll find some nice small and silent appliances which are build for 24x7 use.
