Uplink failover not work correctly

hi,

i use the uplink failover feature and most time it works.

primary: 2mbit QSC
slave: T-Com DSL

sometime the asl switch to backup interface although the failover-check ip is reachable. (test from client with ping -t).

one other is that the interface do not switch back. only if i cut the cable to the adsl-modem.

anybody experience with that feature? please report me.

Have you found a solution for this problem or is there a reply from

nice to see that i am not alone [;)]
no, i didn´t found a solution, but astaro know the problem. the support logged in in my system an talked about a solution in one of the next up2dates. since them i never called with support, but i will do next time!

Could you please post your Interface configuration? And a list of 'ifconfig -a'. By using Uplink Failover (UFO) you have to make sure you a pinging a host BEHIND the gateway. Also the backup interface and the primary interface have to be on different subnets.

i ping a host behind the router! its the next hop from oure provider. the primary is a qsc 2mbit sdsl and the backup is a adsl from t-online. settings are right [;)]

the problem is another, i am not shure what, but the support know about.

Are both DSL lines connected by using a external dsl router? ASL supports only one DSL line connected directly to.

Hello synopex and Xeno,

I found something in the Known Issues.
Must be fixed with V 5.023.
What is your current version synopex ?

ID1557 5.021 Uplink failover may not work correctly

Description: When disabling Packetfilter->ICMP->ICMP from Firewall the
             Uplink failover feature does not work
Workaround:  (Re-)enable ICMP from Firewall
Fix:         Fixed in 5.023

5.026 but still exists. however, i set off the failover feature. now i use two different systems, because i used the parent-proxy function in http-proxy, so i can push the surf-traffic to the lower line and the ssh, vpn, etc traffic route over the 2mbit.

i will set up a new system to test it.
