Cannot connect to webadmin

I have 2 nic's and i have just installed ASL 5. eth0 was setup in the install as 192.168.1.3... When I logged into WebAdmin everything was fine and working... but then I added my 2nd nic and clicked the red light button to activate it, and then the "page could not be displayed"! I tried reconnecting and everything, on both ip's! i cant even get a ping response from either one... Its just so weird. If anybody has an idea of what may be going on, please reply...

    What IP address did you apply to the second one? Also, how are eth0 and eth1 connected, to the same switch/hub?

    Yeah, they are both connected to the same hub... eth0's ip is 192.168.1.3, eth1's ip is 192.168.1.2

    I have to have it that way, coz my ISP's modem forwards all incoming traffic to 192.168.1.2... the modem (gateway) is 192.168.1.1...

    ..if you use a modem just try to use (PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE-DSL) connection) on eth1..(External interface)..

    Internal (Address) eth0:192.168.1.10
    External (Address) eth1:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    YourHost may have (Lan Address) eth0:192.168.1.20 gateway 192.168.1.10

    Thing is, the modem is a "special" one... there is no USB connector. And the ISP doesnt support PPPOE... I have to connect via ethernet and my server has to be 192.168.1.2 (hard coded into the modem)...

    I want to use my astaro as a webserver with firewall for just that machine. I do not want to use astaro to route to the network. I want to set it up so that i can run a web server and can acces it from the WAN, but also be able to use WebAdmin from the LAN

     but you use a router with static ip like 192.168.1.1?!

    the modem is hardcoded as 192.168.1.1.. I cannot change anything on the modem. The ISP set it up so that it forwards all incoming data to the ip address of 192.168.1.2... therefore if i want a webserver to run on my astaro box one of my nics must be 192.168.1.2. the other can be 192.168.1.3 for local access on my 192.168.1.0 network.

    Is the netmask for the Astaro NIC 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.0.0?

    and if u connect via web at modem configuration page  nothing shell appear?!can u tell me more about the modem eg: product name, isp provider..firmware

    modem brand is: arescom
    model: netDSL 1000 series
    ISP: vuurwerk (dutch ISP)
    firmware: unknown (do not have access to modem info)

    thats all i can see on the modem itself... the isp has locked the modem up so that you cannot edit any settings. the only way you can edit settings is via telnet, and it requires un/pw... which i do not have...
