Astaro provides everything you need via the Up2Date mechanism.
Like Simon already said, the OS is already hardened, so there is no need for extra patches.

Astaro should not require any further hardening.  Security patches are released as required, usually very quickly.

I know there is some porgrams of scan like nmap and nessus that views the vulnerabilities of a system and I don't want my firewall to be vulnerable to those attacks, if effectively it is vulnerable.

so run nessus and find out you are secure.

but how can I scan astaro with nessus when we know that we must install a nessus client on the astaro machine, I think we can install no software on astaro..am I wrong ???

You do not install nessus on the machine(s) you are scanning.

But you do need to run it from OUTSIDE your firewall if you want to do an effective scan.

Put it on a machine with a connection to another ISP or whatever.

I use a laptop running Fedora.

mimo if you are asking these types of nessus questions you should probably just trust us when we say it not going to give you any results.

you are danger of scaring yourself just because you not up to speed on the details of this powerful tool.

please don't misunderstand or feel attacked, every newbie is welcome here.
But if i read your questions it sounds for me like that:
... i want to setup a firewall to be secure, but i am not so expirienced how this works. i heard of tools like nessus which check your security but i'm also not so sure how to use them ...  [:S]

If i am right, i would recommend you to go to the Astaro  documentation site  and read the very good (!!) manual and the  Initial Setup document.
After that post concrete questions if you have problems with the configuration.
Also use the SEARCH button because most common problems are already asked and documentated here.

If i am not right, please tell us more detailed what you are looking for and what your problem is.
