hardware calculator

hi folks,

i´ve just tested the hardware calculator and i think  the result is abnormal ;-)

Hardware Calculator
Users:  10

everything enabled



1. Practical use recommendation:
CPU: 500 MHz
RAM: 384 MB
HDD: 8 GB IDE or SCSI HDD
NIC: at least 2


2. calculated hardware requirements - all seclected options used by every user everytime:
CPU: 600 MHz
RAM: 384 MB
HDD: 8 GB IDE or SCSI HDD
NIC: at least 2



behind my asl are temporary 2 users and surfing the net is slow as hell.
i think if vp is enabled, then a minimum cpu speed should be 1ghz (minimum) 


whats your expirience

    TBH the hardware calculator should ask a few more key questions:

    internet connection speed
    number of interfaces
    VPN etc

    as these all have a significant impact on performance

    of course, but vp is the hungriest option and i can´t understand why.
    i was using eTrust SCM from Computer Associates as http proxy with virus protection enabled on a p233 incl. win2k pro. And it was faaaaaster with more users behind it as the asl squid with kaspersky is on my pII 500.
