I have ASL 4.022 in a rebuilt machine. The machine has dual onboard Intel 82546EB Pro1000 ethernet controllers. The PCI vendor id is 8086 and the PCI device id is 1010 (80861010).
When booting ASL the e1000 module loads and binds to the two controllers. The management web interface lists the ports as Unknown Vendor/Unknown Device. This scares me a little bit.
I am not trying to run at gigabit speeds, it is just that nearly all the server boards made today have gig chips down on the board (either Intel, Broadcomm or Marvel/Syskonnect).
Is there any way to make these portsw show up properly? I am currently doing web management via one port but I am suspicious of whether or not everything will work correctly given that ASL sees these ports as unknown.
I tried editing the pci vendor/dev ids into /usr/share/pci.ids and pci.lst but it did nothing.
