Pattern Up2Date not working

All this week I've been getting this error, [ERR 009] Failed to start Virus Scanner. Please repeat Pattern Up2Date. I'm running V4 4.010 and haven't done any upgrading lately. I also tried rebooting the machine. Now when I run the virus Up2Date, it looks like this:

000 UPDATE_SERVER: 216.167.31.83 
001 Starting update for avp_pattern. 
002 Creating the md5sum hash for avp_pattern. 
003 Connecting to 216.167.31.83 ......Connected! 
007 No new avp virus pattern available. 
008 Pattern install started. 
009 No Pattern Update for avp virus pattern necessary! 

This looks like everything is fine and that there are just no patterns to receive, but I haven't gotten any patterns for almost a week now.   [:S]l every couple hours.

I've read the past posts that I can find on this and it seems that this problem has been caused by upgrading OR fixed by rebooting, neither of which apply in this case, I think, hehe. 

any ideas?

    goodness..there are several fixes in the updates.  I would suggest updating to the most recent version using your up2date area of your webadmin and check back.  the license for hte a/v engine from kaspersky(not your but ASL's) expired and that is why you are getting that error.  That and many other issues are addressed..along with two new kernels to fix vulnerabilities.  please upgrade to 4.022 immediatly.
