VLAN support with realtek chipset?

Hi,

i found in the HCL that the RTL-8139 chipset supports vlan. Is that correct? I think this is the cheap standard realtek chipset. Am i right? I have a offer for a card with a RTL8139D chipset.

Thank you.

kind regards,
Bastian

  • I bought a at least three different brands of low-cost single-port NICs in the 10 US$ price range with the RTL8139 chipset. They all work fine with several VLAN per NIC under ASL v4.021 and v5.011 in Compaq Deskpro EN Small desktops, Compaq Proliant 1600 and HP DL320/360 servers.
