  • i ahve no idea when it comes to kernel panics..however since the interrupt handler is having issues(from what i see int he code) check the bios or apic functions..if it is off turn it on if on turn it off..also try to disable acpi.  There is also a no apic install option..try that as well.

    Hello,

please note that this procedure might be nescesary if your machine
doesn't come up after the reboot (only)

Howto to switch per default enabled APIC support
in updated (not new installed) Astaro Security Linux 4.008.

    1)
When the boot prompt appears press TAB

    Enter: default noapic acpi=off

    2)
If the device is booting now, login as root
cd to /emergency/boot/etc open lilo.conf and append the following line:

    append = "acpi=off"

    3)

activate the new setting by typing

    lilo -r /emergency/boot

    4) reboot

    read you

  • William very much appreciated for the help.

ACPI was enabled in the BIOS. I have disabled it and rebooted.

If this fails i will move onto your other suggestions.

    cheers !
