Hardware too weak?

Hi all.

I am a newbie in configuring the ASL5 and have to do this using a Celeron processor with 600 MHZ, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Harddisk, CD-ROM, 3 NICs.

I got it running but sometimes see using the TOP-command that the processor is 100% utilized and then the system does not respond to any requests, for example HTTP-Proxy.

On the hardware calculator at astaro.com I found the information that 384 MB RAM and 500 MHz are needed. 

Is the hardware too weak that I am testing on. There are normally three users online at the same time.

    If swapping out the entire PC that you are using for running ASL with a more powerful (and expensive) one is out of the question, then I would suggest that you consider upgrading the machine that you have.

    First, upgrade the RAM to 512 MB. This might solve all of your performance problems, in which case you are done.

    Second, replace the Celoron CPU with the fastest P3 chip that the motherboard will take. This should take care of any remaining performance issues.
