Install problems

Hi there,

i've got some problems to install ASL Testversion on my PC!

The installation starts normal, but after the hardware detection it hangs up!

Hardware:
ASUS A7V600 Board
AMD Athlon XP 2800
1 GB RAM
80GB HDD
2x D-Link NIC

On console 3 i get the message:

scsi_mod: Device or resource busy
Removing module scsi_mod

It come again and again and never stops!

Does your board have an onboard SCSI controller? Eventhough you're not using it, it might be the problem. Go into the BIOS and disable the SCSI ciontroller at the BIOS level and retry.
If you don't have and onboard SCSI controller, I have to help to offer. Sorry.

There is an onboard SATA controller, but it is disabled!

even though the bios says disabled the linux installer may still be able to detect it..since AFAIK ASL5 does not know SATA it assumes it is scsi. Sometimes not only do you have to disable the controller but you have to disable the dma setting for the sata controller..and that is often in another section of hte bios.
