Astaro V 5.0 Installation Query

The minimum of hard disk capacity you need is 6.4 GB.

Error you get is, because you have 2 HDD in your box. ASL is installing only to single HDD, so it would be better to remove other one.
You should also be carefull, that you have enough RAM. I would recomned you to use 256MB minimum, or 512 for optimal performance.

Your system may be compliant with the minimum specs published by Astaro, but even if you get it working you will *hate* the performance of that machine.  For best results, stay above the 1 Ghz mark in processor speed and use at least 256MB of RAM.  512MB is preferred.

not neccesarily.  With my setup listed below the only performance issue i have is the webadmin which by ASL's own admission is not a hardware issue.  I run dns, http, pop3 proxies(with a/v on pop3) and ids functions for up to 10 systems here and it performs jsut a well as ASL4 does...i even threw up a vpn for my wife to connect to her work computers and the machine handled it fine.  I had to tweak squid to keep it from caching to ram(which i do nto like anyway) and that was the only performance mod i made.

it is possible to use 2 HDDs but you must have an supported RAID-Controller wich makes your ASL beliving its only 1 HDD.
We use this here with Hardware from Pyramid.
