Upgrade from 4.021 to 5 using Up2date

Hi,

What is possibility to upgrade 4.021 to 5 using Up2date services?
Shall we wait for up2date or start fresh installation by restoring backup of configuration? In this case how about our previous log files???

Unfortunately it is not planned to provide an online upgrade. Download the latest ISO image and reinstall the firewall.

Is it possible however to import a backup file from V4 into a fresh install of V5?

Yes, though you may wish to reconfigure from scratch. (Nice clean install then).

installing from scratch and re-configuring from scratch gives you a good opportunity to revise your rule sets, and remove/tidy up un-needed rules that may ave crept in during testing phases, ad-hoc user requests etc.....
