kernel: neighbour table overflow

ASL is running on a Dell box, but it drops now and then all
network connectivity. The above message I can see in the
kernel.log
After "ifconfig eth1 down; ifconfig eth1 up" the system works
again but not forever.
eth1 is a Dell 8254OEM Gigabit NIC, driver Intel Pro/1000, running at 100Mbit

Has anybody similar problems?

How many devices do you have on eth1 ethernet segment?

approx. 200 in a switched environment

Please check the ifconfig output after this error occures - is "lo" still there? Besides of this it could be useful to do a security audit of your internal network - some odd network activity could cause this error.

I am having similar problems here... I have 4 machines connected, and i have found that one is running a p2p monster... however, 4 machines should NOT stop a firewall program like astaro... i have seen that others have had problems with this kernel version.
This is NOT a fix, but a workaround.
the following commands work, but I am sure that they are unsupported by astaro.

echo 8192 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/default/gc_thresh1
echo 8192 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/default/gc_thresh2
