4 Port NIC ASL4 & ASL5

Does anyone know of a 4 Port NIC that is supported/working on either ASL4/5.
I have been looking at a dlink DFE-580TX. I have read some previous posts about this card, but still are a little unsure where the state of play is on this.

    please have a look at http://docs.astaro.org/HCL-5.0.txt.
    We tested some Quad Port Cards and many should work.
    For Example you can use the 82546EB PRO/1000MT Quad Port Server Adapter .

    Hi,

    Our firewall is running fine with the DLINK DFE-580-TX card. I installed the firewall was installed with verion 4, two weeks ago I upgraded to version 5.
    If you choose a 4 port card be sure to use a server card otherwise you will end up with a 4 port hub (1 mac address for all ports) and pick a card out off the compat lists.

    That is weird, on the ACL 5 hardware list the Dlink DFE-580 TX is not supported. This card would be a good choice, as it is about $250 NZD. However the Intel and Adpatec 4 port NICs are around $1000.00 NZD each. 

    Have you done any throughput tests on the card?

    This card was marked as unsupported because wehave got  lots of error reports. Under heavy load it stopped sending out packets. Meanwhile the driver was revised but until now  we were not able to run extensive tests in our labs. Let's say 'it should be supported'

    Thanks Oliver, we are going to be pushing some huge file through it for the nightly backups. I will let the you know how we get on.

    I had a school running on 2 Dlink DFE-580 TX untill recently with ASL V4.  The school has just under 500 PCs in the building and running through the system.  I haven't experienced problems with this firewall until the NIC got hit by lightning, hence at which time we had to scurry & get a new firewall in place.
