allowing services through

I have an internal mail server & need to allow smtp & pop3 through  the firewall. This machine has a 192.168.0.* IP

Whats the process for opening a port on the firewall & then allowing a  route to the given machine (incoming & outgoing)

Once again thanks for all pointers

Andrew

  • these are the basic steps......

    1. define a host entry for the internal address
    2. create a dnat entry for traffic hitting the external ip of your astaro changing the destination to teh internal ip
    3. create a rule allowing traffic from whereever you like on the 'net to the private ip address

    hope this helps,
