New Hardware not detected...

Hi @ all,
i`ve got my astaro v5.007 running for a few days, it works well.
yesterday i decided to put a third nic in it for a dmz an now i`ve got a problem.
my switch says that there is a connection to the card and the leds on the back of the card are also showing the connection.
when i go now to network interfaces in the astaro menu, the
new hardware is not detected, only eth0 and eth1 which were already in the astaro.
someone got a idea what do or do i have to install the astaro again with the third nic at the installing inside?

Unless you want to hack the scripts, you need all your hardware in place when you install ASL. It does not detect new hardware on the fly when you boot it up.

You can back up your configuration, reinstall ASL and the Up2Date patches, then resore your configuration, and you will have your new hardware properly recognized.

it should work, but what about the hardware information and the settings for each device. aren´t they included in the backup?

[/ QUOTE ]The installation program detects the hardware, and establishes that you have an eth0, eth1, etc. device installed, and what type of hardware they are. The configuration backup contains the administrative names and configurations that are associated with the various eth0, eth1, etc. devices.

If one of your Ethernet cards died, say it was a Realtek, and you replaced it with an Intel card, then reinstalling the ASL software and restoring the config backup brings you right back to where you were before the failure.
