If your motherboard is so old that it doesn't support booting from a CDROM, then it is likely to be a a poor choice for running ASL v5, which requires a relatively modern machine with a fast CPU and lots of RAM to work properly.

Thanks for the inputs guys, but I did manage to come up with a fairly good and easy way to get around this problem if your network requirements are modest (SOHO-sized). I installed a SCSI HD & CDROM w/adapter that supports booting the CDROM. It seems to work wonderfully running on a P200 w/256meg RAM.
