Problems with HA

Hello,
we have two appliances with ASL4. Both maschines works fine, as standalone. after configuring the high availability we have a flapping between both firewalls. Whne i configure rules or networks on the primary firewall and will apply the configuration i see the loginscreen from webadmin. after login i look in system ha and see that i´m on the back firewall and there is no respons from the master. Have anyone an idea what happen here?

    are both machines running hte same version of ASL?  If there is more than i version difference they tend to freak.

    Hello William,
    both asl run with the same version, 4.021. They installed in different rooms and the connection between them works fine. After a reboot they see each other for a short time and lost the connection.

    please contact support @ astaro . com and post according daemon logfile. Informations about installed NIC as well as a screenshot of the HA configuration would be helpful -  German language is appreciated [:)]

    How many NICs does your machines have, and how many of them did you configure and activate in Webadmin?

    I am asking this because I had troubles getting to work HA on V4 correctly as well at first, until ASL support hinted that if I had a NIC that was configured and active, but not actually connected/up, then the HA mechanism will initiate failover. And indeed I have four NICs, one connecting to the Internet, one to the internal network, one for HA heartbeat, and a fourth for "out-of-band system management" using my laptop and a crossover cable. The latter was actually the source of all my trouble, because my latop was not connected after initial setup. As soon as I disabled this NIC in both machines of the cluster, HA was working fine.
    I did not dare to migrate that HA cluster to V5 yet.

    Hello Rolf,
    i have configured one interface on each maschine. only the internal net and the sync interface. The other two are not configured yet.

    we use secutrend appliances. All interfaces are Intel Gigabit. The other Information i send to the support.
