Via CL10000 + V5 install problem

Just tested to install ASL 4.017 and that worked perfekt. But I really would like to test ASL v5...

I'm very interested in this thread cause i'm planing to install V5 on a Via C3 1000GHz.
Will this work?
I don't want to "test" it, cause I need to switch a bunch of hardware for testing.

Did someone test the V5 installation on a CL6000? Is the CPU of the CL6000 sufficient at all for the V5?

 It is stronly depending on what you want to do. 
Best thing is to look around in the forum an check who does what with his config. That should give you the - let me call it 'feeling'  . If you need gateway that controls 100s of users using vpn over a fast line your CL6000 (Via C3 @600MHz) would surely suffer.

If you want it for home-use protecting a few boxes while surfing the CL6000 would be perfect.

As an example: I am running a V10000 with 256MB in a company with 30 clients. Of course not Astaro (V5 does not run on Via C3 (yet?)) but a comparable linux-based product. All Emails get scanned, checked for spam, VPN is up (max 4 Users). Line is 3 mbit/s. Never had performance problems with the V10000.

I would not buy a V10000 again, but that is another story.

Any updates on this topic?  I'm very interested in this motherboard, along with many of the new Nehemia based-boards.  I would very much like to see Astaro work with the CL10000 because of the dual ethernet ports it has.

Yes, we have received the hardware and have removed some blocking code from the installation routine. Installation works perfectly and partners who are evaluating boxes with Via 1000 Nehemia chipset haven't reported any problems so far. It is too early to change the state in the HCL but we will do after some more information/experience from the field.

I use a NSA-1030-I 1 from NexGate with VIA C3 1GHz CPU (Network Security Appliance). There was 3 integrated Ethernet Ports with Intel Chipset (3xIntel 82559 Ethernet 10/100).
The installation works very well without problems. All components were detected. Only the ethernet interfaces was difficult to sort at the correct port (INT/DMZ/EXT) because it was the same drivername for all interfaces  [;)]

Just for reference, which ISO was the first to become VIA-safe?

in doubt always the most recent one  
Think they changed it with 5.010.
