Fujitsu-Siemens RX-100 with Promise Fast Track TX2

Hi all,

I just tried to install the new ASL V5 Beta to a RX-100 Server with onboard IDE-RAID Controller (Promise  20268R) und 2 80GB IDE drives. The drives are configured as RAID 1 (mirror). During the installation, the hardware detection didn't recognice that the two HDs run at RAID 1. ASL shows me two 80GB HDs and abort the installation [:(]psets be supportet?

    A very good question.

    I too, have Promise FastTrak cards that I would like to use with ASL in a RAID 1 setup. Promise does supply Linux drivers for both their FastTrak and Ultra cards, but these are not included in the ASL distribution. We can only hope that Astaro will consider including Promise drivers in a future release. 

    Promise FastTrak is the most popular RAID chip in use today, and ought to be supported. As it stands, it is not possible to install ASL on high end, semipro motherboards such as the Asus P4C800pro series, which uses SATA drives connected to a Promise FastTrak chip on the motherboard.

    Microsoft finally included the Promise drivers when they released WinXP. Win2003server also has them.
