Hello all,
I had been experiencing continuous system lockups after activating a second interface on my ana6944a/tx (asl 4.008).
At first I thought it had something to do with the card getting too hot.
After messing around with the system for a while I noticed that each one of the four interfaces of the card got its own seperate IRQ, which was wrong according to my former experience with similar cards on linux machines (non asl).
/etc/modules.conf had aliased eth0 to eth3 to vanilla-tulip driver.
What exacly is this driver? What are the differences with regular tulip?
Changing /etc/modules.conf so it would use tulip instead of vannilla-tulip solved all of my problems.
I hope this helps somebody in the future.
excuse my poor english.
p.s. ana 6944A/TX is a quad port pci ethernet adapter by adaptec. You can get them really cheap nowdays from ebay.
