Installation question

I have installed 4 times and the same thing happens each time.  The screen for the pc just scrolls 0's and 1's and I can not reach it from anything on the network.  Any ideas what I did wrong?

    Did you check to see if your hardware was compatibale to the ASL list, What type of hardware are you using ?

    Try turning ACPI off in BIOS.

    Check what mode your hard disk is running. (LBA etc)  Try changing to CHS mode or other supported hdd modes...

    The rig:
    P3 733 on a Soyo mainboard
    256MB PC133 
    2 Linksys NICs
    80GB Western Digital
    GF4 4200Ti

    Basically what I had sitting around doing nothing.

    Disabled ACPI.  Not many options for HD - they are Auto, Normal, LBA, and Large.  Not sure what any of those mean.  

     Tried all 4 HD opitons - no joy.  I'm still getting 01 scrolling accross and down the screen.

    Has this box had Linux installed on it ? Last time I had one of my machines do that it was a memory problem. Do you have any memory there that you can swap in or out or maybe take a stick out and swap back and forth. I did that with one of mine and isolated it to a stick of memory and was a huge headache. I am not sure if that would be the problem with yours. You may or may not want to throw a quick distro of redhat on that box to see if you have the same problem and then start hunting down the hardware that is causing that problem... thats a start...

    Figured it out with the help of some other forums.  Basically, the "01" meant that my hard drive was not set as the primary boot drive.  Sure enough, it was not.  I had to reconfigure the jumpers on the back of the drive from "cable select" to single master.  Now it works like a charm.
