NEWBIE question

Hi All, I need help..
I set up ASL on a PII 333, 6gig HD, 294 M ram, 2 ethernet cards...INstalation went fine, now on screen it says
192.168.2.100
Login:

THe question: I am trying to acess ASL from my other machine. Athlon 2.4 GHZ running win XP PRO. I cannot ping the adress 192.168.2.100 ... I changed the IP adress to 192.168.2.101 same subnet as ASL machine 255.255.255.0.. But nothing works....

I know this is probably something really easy, but i just cant figure it out. Can someone give me a step by step wa;kthrough so i can get this finally up and running...

    The default address of the ASL internal interface is configurable during the software installation. Then you can set the address to anything you want. 

    When you configured your PC with the static address of 192.168.2.101, did you also set its default gateway to be 192.168.2.100, so that it actually points at the Astaro box? If you didnt, they won't communicate.

    Once you do get setup to talk to the Astaro box, you might find that it will be more convinient to use a number such as 192.168.1.1 for the Astaro Internal Interface, since it will be your LAN router. A quick and easy way to change this right away, is to simply run the install from the CD one more time, and set the Internal Interface address to the what you would like it to be. Just remember that you must configure the same IP number as your default gateway on your PCs.
