astaro does not seem to have /dev/cdrom - which is where the VMWare virtual CDROM device is expected. Any ideas how to mount VMWare virtual cdrom ?

You can't mount floppies or CD-ROMs with Astaro. You should use winscp or scp to securely transfer files.
