Won't boot, K6-2

This might be a dead horse here but has anyone managed to get Astaro running on a K6-2.

I've tried the latest iso as well as 4.008 & 4.107 both recomended for 586 cpu's but it just won't boot. It just hangs after hard drive detection and floppy scan.

K6-2 500
ALI 1541 based board

Any help would be appreciated

reset the bios to defaults..also what vid card and nics are you using?

I'll try reseting the bios.

video card is on board ATI Rage II
3com 3c450 10/100
Network everywhere NC100

Everything is detected correctly in the installation. This setup runs smoothwall like a champ.

vid card maybe the issue..might be too old for ASL..check the HCL....

To answer your question, yes. Every version of Astaro up through 4.020 on K6-2 400s mounted on ASUS TX97 and TXP4 boards. Various IDE hard drives as small as 4 gb. RAM as low as 128 mb. RTL 8139, RTL 8029 and 3Com 3C905B LAN cards.

(I'm not saying a 4 gb hard drive or 128 mb RAM are minimums - that's just as low as I've run.)

Well I reset the BIOS and it boots without a hitch now, not sure why but I'll have to remember that in the future.

more than likely pnp or acpi was causing the issues...
