SBC / Ameritech DSL and Astaro 4

OK, we're "authorized partner" with Astaro with more that 12 Astaros sold. 
We have one customer right now and another one in about 2 weeks with SBC DSL internet. 
I can't get DSL portion to work through Astaro - tried 2 different PCs, 3 different NICs, 2 different DSL modems (both SpeedStreams, one older one fairly new), configure / reconfigure connections - always down. 
Called US Support (I think it was Cory), he said only think he can think of is change MTU time to 1492 instead of 1500 (default), but that didn't work. 
Obviously DSL works if used with Linksys firewall or just windows 2000 directly with no problem. 
And I did try rebooting / recreating / modifying this/that in webadmin (didn't go into console to do anything yet). 

Anyone experienced similar problems? Anyone has other suggestions?

    I am not sure why you are having this problem but it's obvouis that you have set ASL up before I am new to ASL myself but not computers and I have it working very nicely with SBC DSL. Can you give me some more information about the type of DSL plan that this customer has ? 

    Does the customer have a dynamic account or is it static are you trying to use PPOE for a static account ? I am also using a speedstream as far as the gateway to my DSL connection and have NO problems at all with it. I have working everything that ASL has to offer except for VPN services which I will use as soon as I get the time to configure...

    I can remember an old case where we had to change ppp behaviour to make it go with Verizon after they had updated their access concentrator firmware.

    Astaro US support also tells me that they have some SBC customers and it's working fine, so I guess I'll try one more time with some other hardware.

    The main goal is to get customer's DSL working. It's static IPs but still goes through PPPoE with login info and such. I do know logins because my laptop goes out just fine. 
    Tested with that static IPs DSL and regular residential-grade DSL, both gave me same results.

    Which log I actually need to look at - I checked everything briefly, didn't see anything out of order, but I could be wrong.

    Well, must be doing SOMETHING wrong, right? [:)]

    I'll post with results...
