No connet between ASL V4 and Allnet ADSL modem/rou

My ASL V4 worked correctly with my DSL modem.
Then the modem failed (hardware...) and had to be replaced.
I bought an ALLNET ALL129DSL modem and router.

Now that the modem/router works I tried to reintegrate the ASL V4.

As soon as I connect the ASL to the router ports with LAN cabling all of the 3 LEDs from the router display switch on indicating connection and collisions.  That even at a time when that LAN interface at the ASL is not configured.

Any ideas or any documentation how to combine an ASL and a modem/router ?

    You say this a router/modem is the router also trying to do NAT ? if so turn that off.. ASL and your Router cannot both do NAT maybe why you are getting the collisions, I had a similar problem when trying to use my router between asl and the dsl gateway .....
