Replace of broken network device

Hi there,
one network device 
( the one which is responsible for administration, device name is eth0 ip is 10.1.1.1 ) 
is broken
 (switching between modes 10baseT and 100baseT and routing to this device dosn't work anymore).
If i replace it with a new network card, the fireall startsup normally 
( new network device name is automatically set to eth0 and ip is automatically set to 10.1.1.1; i've put it into the same pci port like the old  ) 
but the routing and the administration dosn't work. Do i have to run a special tool so that the routing and administration works again or do i have to install the firewall comletely again.
If i put the old device back in the firewall the routing and administation works again for some time until it switches again between modes 10baseT and 100baseT

Version of Astaro is 4.0.18

    If the card is the same make -fine.

    You can load an alternative driver from command line, but it will probably be easier to backup, reinstall, restore. Simply flip the wires on your interfaces and permit webadmin from Any (temporarily). Access from the LAN interface from a workstation with settings temporarily set to the network on the external interface. Do your backup from there.

    If that's not clear, repost...

    P.S. If you can simply access the machine from the 'net to do the backup, that's the easiest!
