i fear.

currently my asl is on 4.009. I would prefer to update further but i fear.

why? because I read the (I)-tag on the prefetch. It says:

REMARKS

...
WebAdmin will be restarted
.
...
.
.
.
BUGFIX ...
.
...
...
ID544 o 4.008 Internal Server Error may appear after restarting WebAdmin

can anybody explain this to me. does that mean, that the bug was fixed in 4.009 or 4.008, or will it be fixed or apper with 4.010 ???

PROB IS: I had this "Internal Server Error Thing" since I upgraded to 4.xxx two times. I'm sorry not to be able to say exactly how or why but I guess it had something to do with up2dating. that time I had other probs but trying to empirically research for the "bad guy" in the sys, ... 'CAUSE I HAD TO REINSTALL, ABSOLUTLY NO WEBADMIN COULD BE ACCESSED OR BE REANIMATED AND ALL MY LOGS WHERE GONE!     

can anybody help?  [:)]

    If then you probably know that different thing have to be done after this procedur. Its not like: install and tadaaaa.

    In some cases, and you can read this in the ASL manual, links need to be reconfigured. And you need to put in the license in correct order or you config backup does not work right, as I can remember.

    And last thing ... DA LOGS ARE GONE! [:)]

    No, I will not download log by log.

    Again: will it blow my webadmin again if I start the up2date?

    To be sincere, it's not only one ASL which needs to be updated by me, we got some customers with the same probs.

    This is goin to be fun ...

    I've done what I described above a few times with no problems. I installed a 4th interface a couple of months ago and reinstalled just to make sure things were OK.

    I guess it should be:
    1. Backup config
    2. Burn and install from new ISO
    3. enter license
    4. restore from back up.

    This will blow away any logs/history but you said yours were gone anyway.
    Exactly what kind of things do you need to reconfigure after restoring from backup, that aren't done during the restore?
    I guess I just don't see the big deal.
