Installing 'make'

I've been trying to install some software on a box running Astaro v4.016.  Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a compiler included with the install, and the compilers that I'm familiar with ('make' and 'gcc') require a basic compiler to install themselves.  I seem to be in a sort of Catch 22 situation.  I've searched for precompiled binaries of some sort of simple compiler, but haven't had any luck.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ok.  Well, I installed the PlusPack as suggested (Thanks, BTW.  The GNU functionality is a godsend.)  However, even with the PlusPack and with Make finally installed, compiling the driver fails with this error:

Makefile:115: *** Linux kernel source not configured - missing version.h.  Stop.

    How do I install version.h?
  • Sorry can´t help you. Look in this forum and see if you can find what you seek. I have not installed pluspack on my fw. Here you have the link to forum for pluspack  Pluspack
