3Com NIC's not recognized

I have two brand new Dell machines with 3Com NIC cards that are not being recognized. This is not so much the problem as that Eth1 locks up once or twice a week. Eth1 is the WAN side of the ASL. Anyone see this before?

So do I. Brand new hardware, brandnew 3 Com nics.---> unknown Nics. and got trooble. WAN NIC does not get status "up"......

are you using verizon dsl? if so there is a fix for it..[:)]

Login as root
cd /var/chroot-pppoe/etc/ppp
joe options
add on top "default-asyncmap" (without "" of course)
CTRL+K+X saves the file with exit (CTRL+K+H shows a command overview)

Here is my 3com nic i have in my fw and it works fine.
