CPU utilization of 100% - Maybe DMA

I am just testing Astaro V4.008. The problem is that the maschine is always running with 100% cpu utilization also iafter reboot when the firewall is not doing anything.

When I viewed /proc/ide/hda/settings the line using_dma displays that DMA mode is not enabled. I only know the program hdparm to set the parameter.

Mybe thats the problem wirh the high CPU utilization. How can I set this on Astaro version 4?

    This can happen if the firewall is logging a lot of packets which  leads to the /var/log/kernel log file becoming very large. The process which  compresses this file then takes up a lot of CPU and RAM as it tries to compress the large files. Look at your firewall filter tules and see if you can change some of the more comon protocols so that you drop the packets rather than logging and dropping them ! I had a similar problem and changing the rules of the packet filter to drop the packets without logging them solved the issue.

    I am only using Allow and Drop rules. Logging was the first I switches off.
