After installation: Reboot and L 07 07 07 07 .....

As being a newcomer to Astaro and Firewall installations I don´t know how to solve this problem:

Installation works fine.
After Reboot the PC comes up an gives me a black blank screen with  continuous writing of

Any Ideas what could be wrong ?

Hardware: A HP Vectra VLi8 with 450 MHz and 256 MB RAM and a 10 GB harddisk, two NICs (not the same sort, but both 10/100).

    Hi there, 

    This Error message is created by the boot loader LILO.

    The displayed L means, that the first stage boot loader has been loaded and started, 
    but it can't load the second stage boot loader. The two-digit error  codes indicate the type of problem. 
    (See also section "Disk error codes".) This condition usually indicates a media failure or a geometry 
    mismatch (e.g. bad disk parameters, see section "Disk geometry"). 

    The error code 0x07 menas “Invalid initialization”. 
    The BIOS failed to properly initialize the disk controller. You should control the BIOS setup parameters.
     
    Are the Bios setting correct, did the bios detect the harddrive?

    How many Harddrives have you build in?

    Are those SCSI or IDE or mixed SCSI/IDE drives?

    Hi,

    the bios did detect the harddisk. I know that, because it did not first because I had problems with one IDE-channel. There the HD was not present in the bios.
    After I  connected it to the other IDE-channel (slave, Master=CDROM) the bios did detect the harddrive.
    There ist only one IDE harddrive in that computer and no SCSI bus/drives or disks.

    Does the successfully completed installation mean that the harddisk has to be discovered correctly ? How would the installation procedure go when no disk would be present ?


    By the way: which bios parameters for the harddisk are essential ?

    Hi there:  problem solved.
    Problem was that at the primary IDE-Channel no master device was detectable.
    Finally the configuration at the secondary IDE-channel  was successful.
