Toshiba Magnia SG20

I have just bought a toshiba Magnia SG20 and I was wondering if it is possible to load astaro onto it?

I know that you can buy a bundle with Astaro pre-installed onto the Magnia but it's a bit late for that.

I know other posters have discussed this issue but nobody seems to have documented it or resolved the issue.

    Here is a little Howto to install ASL on the SG20.

    There are two options for loading ASL on the Toshiba SG-20, You can contact Toshiba to obtain a “SG-20 Lift Kit” and use this hardware to install ASL as you normally would running the install from a CDROM. You will also need a: Keyboard, Monitor, CDROM & CDROM-IDE ribbon cable & and ATI video card. Alternatively you can remove the hard drive from the SG-20 and install it in another PC (either a laptop or a PC with and IDE cable that will accommodate laptop hard drive connections) . The steps to do this are outlined below.

    1.Remove the hard drive from the SG-20 and install it in the    machine you with to use for the ASL installation.

    2.Perform the install as you normally would booting from the CDROM to perform the installation. 

    3.Log as root using the console connection & access the ASL command line.
    -Default Root password is “root”

    4.Once you have connected you will need to change the network drivers to accommodate what is present in the SG-20. This is done by editing the /etc/modules.conf file so that it has the following values:
    NOTE these changes will not take place until after you reboot and the file must read exactly as is shown below

    =============use exact syntax=============
    alias eth0 8139too
    alias eth1 e100   
    =====================================

    5.Once you have changed this file the network drivers will be reloaded and you will need to shut the installation machine down and move the hard drive back to the SG-20. 

    *NOTE* The network card drivers listed above are for the SG-20 platform that has been supplied to Astaro by Toshiba. If your SG-20 has a different brand of network card (s) you will need to determine the type and use the appropriate drivers.
