Wireless network cards...

Has anyone gotten a wireless NIC working in a computer with a PCI bus?  All the NICs I see on the HCL list are PCMCIA based.  I've seen where people have tried to use the PCI to PCMCIA adapter, but they couldn't get it to work.

Are there any secrets to getting this working?

    Not 100% true, I've got a PCI / PCMCIA adapter (D-Link DWL500) with a Prism2 PCMCIA card (D-Link DWL650) working - but !!! only as a WLAN station not as AP.

    Hi alltogether,

    I have asked an Astaro expert this question and he meant that there is no direct PCI support available and it is not planned for coming versions, so there is no way arround those PCI-PCMCIA adapter cards.
    Regarding the Prism chipset please read the hardware compatibility list carefully. In the current version (4.015) AP works only with Prism 2.0 and important primary firmware

    I've been looking into this the past few weeks, as my wife thinks this will be better than running cable throughout the house. There is a new AP driver that supports the Prism 2/2.5/3, version 0.4, cards as well as some PCI cards such as the D-Link 650. If you want more information on this it can be found at http://hostap.epitest.fi  under the README.  If the developers are looking for a beta tester for this, I am willing to help them test this possibility.
