I have an ASL 4 running on a Via Epia 800 system. It utilizes the Via C3 and the setup works fine. Will the latest ASL also run on the Via Eden ESP CPU?
I'm well aware of that. Writing 'latest' was meant to point in the direction of ASL 4.008 and later due to the otherwise well known change in CPU support.
I've purchased a couple of VIA Epia VE5000 with the purpose of using them in my server and my ASLfw. I'm glad to confirm that the VIA EDEN CPU is supported in at least ASL 4.015 and, hence, from ASL 4.008 and up.
I also have to add that the onboard NIC in the Eden system I've setup here (VE5000) is not good. It uses the via-rhine driver and in some period of time it'll lock up and become unusable. Kernel log will have entries like:

After debugging a while I disabled the NIC and put in a quadport card (Dlink DFE-580TX) which works fine.
