security warning only after adding eth1

Ok, I'm kinda new at this... im using ASLv4 and I cannot access my webadmin after i enable eth1 to be the static ip that my ISP gave me (i have 5 that come into my 10mb modem/router) 
My router is connected to eth1 and then eth0 goes to my internal network.  I could reach it when just eth0 was enabled then i enabled eth1 (External ip=64.217.*.* Gateway=64.217.*.*) and i get nothing... just the security warning then the browser hangs and give DNS error.
My router's ip=192.168.1.254 and eth0 ip=192.168.1.1
I've reinstalled a couple of times and its frusterating... im sure its something really simple but i need help.

    have you enabled some else like HTPP or DNS Proxy before enabling eth1?
    If so, than there is may be a missconfiguration.
    Give a little more detailes.
    I have nearly the same configuration, but no problems.

    nope haven't configured NAT, HTTP, or anything... I have a D-link switch for my Internal NIC to connect to the network.  The Cayman Router that connects to the ISP has a DHCP Server but i have turned it on/off to no avial. I have even made 192.168.1.1 the gateway for my personal box ( usually is 192.168.1.254 which is the Cayman router's ip address ). I have the router plugged into the switch as well as the ASL box so i can administer both. Could that be a problem?
