Problem when moving old root to /initrd

I am tryinhg to setup Astaro V4.000 on a Pentium 200 MMX and have big troubles.  [:(]

The hardware is a Pentium 200Mhz, 64MB ram, 9Gb hd and 3 Netgear NIC:s (FA311)

The installation went well, but when I reboot the computer stops with the message.

Trying to move old root to /initrd... failed
Unmounting old root
Trying to free ramdisk memory ... okay
Freeing unused kernel memory: 76k freed

And then the computer stop booting, waiting for something that will never happen.

Can anyone give me a clue?

    Just installed V4.008 and it worked!

    After 3 nights I am sending this solution to a place I won't mention here... 

    Sometimes the external interface stops working, dropping all packets. I can ping internal interface, surf the webadmin pages.

    The machine could also - with absolutely no warning - reboot.

    Both these things often happens after 2 to 4 minutes after I start a FTP download from Internet with 1.1MB(byte)/sec. But it can also happen randomly without doing nothing.

    The RAM usage is about 35MB out of 64MB. I have tested the RAM and the testprogram says no error. 

    This may be an error because of the NIC:s (Netgear FA311) and my hardware? I bought three NICS, and maybe two are faulty. I have tested to switch the NIC:s and also only use two NICS. 
    When I set the "external" NIC as internal - the computer rebooted after a few seconds. And on the DMZ Nic, the activity led is constantly lightning.  [:S]
