Upgrading 2.3 to 4

Is it possible to use the abf of an old  2.3 server to configure a 4 (or 3.2) server? 

I have a backup of a 2.3 server. That server is fried now and I want to use this opportunity to upgrade it to version 4. If that's not possible then I have to find the 2.3 install and reload it that way.

    I toned down my search a bit and saw answers to on this topic from Andy (go from 2 to 3.2 to 4). 

    Unfortunatly, the abf from the version 2 seems to be corrupted, accoding to the version 3.2 Astaro I installed. The abf was emailed via "Config  Auto Backup". I am going to try another abf but I'm not hopeful.

    Tried many v2 emailed auto abf's on freshly loaded v2 and v3 servers. Both servers say all the abf's from the old v2 server are corrupted. I tried a 3.2 abf from another in production server and both the v2 and v3 Astaro recognized that abf.

    So it looks like Astaro v2 auto emailed backups are all corrupted (tried serveral, months apart). Does anybody know if v2 email backups worked at all?

    Wow.

    I know this is not answering your question but this is a nice time to find out your backup/restore does not work.
