Dear friends!
To continue the previous thread which did not help, I decided to explain everything in detail.
Hardware used for ASL:
- SiS Mobo + Athlon 1700+, 256Mb DDR Ram
- 1 SiS internal NIC
- Adaptec AH620 double NIC card
I install ACPI kernel of ASL with the administration interface on SiS internal NIC. When choosing the Admin interface there is a note suggesting that the choice of admin interface would have no effect if the cards installed use the same driver. That is the reason I used an internal NIC for admin purposes.
After connecting for the first time with ASL through local network WebAdmin and chhosing the passwords, I proceed to configure one of the Adaptec NICs as an Internet interface.
I have an ADSL Router - 3COM OfficeConnect812 which is set up in MONO mode, without packet filering and without NAT. The current config I use to connect to internet from my (suse) linux box is the following:
IP: 80.33.XX.183
MASK: 255.255.255.192
Gateway: 80.33.XX.129
So I introduce this data as a config for one of Adaptec NICs.
Then I go to DNS proxy and configure the two ISP DNS servers as forwarders.
Well, I don't know what to do after that step as there is no expected internet connectivity. I use the rules of packet filter to allow All access to All services. It does not help. =(
Being a newbie I must be missing something. Please help!
Or maybe the Adaptec double NIC card is the problem?
Yours sincerely,
Kelly
