Internet connectibvity problem with ADSL router

Hello friends!

I have installed ASL 4.008. Unfortunately for some reason I can't get the firewall to ping the internet. I setup an external interface pointing to 80.33.xx.183 with mask 255.255.255.192 and gateway 80.33.xx.129 - same config as I use onexisting linux box. Then I activate DNS proxy and add forwarders. Nothing happens. I can't ping the ISP DNS servers nor any other machines on ther web.

What might cause it?

I'm guessing th ISP assigns you 80.33.xx.183 ? What type of connection is it ?

Can you ping ISP from Astaro ? Or are you trying from a LAN machine ?

This is a ADSL connection from Telefonica (Spain) with fixed IP. The router is configured without NAT. So what I do is use the same data to configure the firewall as I use on my linux box. The IP is 80.33.xx.183, netmask: 255.255.255.192 and default gateway is 80.33.xx.129. The ifconfig shows the interface configured exactly the same as the one on other linux machine. But I still can't use Up2Date or ping ISP or ping anyone else on the web.

Wouldnt the router be getting an IP address from the ISP ?

Does the router have IP's setup ? Or is it setup in bridging mode ?

This IP is provided by ISP. The router is configured as a bridge between DSL and ethernet.

masq internal network to the external interface

that should solve the problem
