Wireless Access Point on internal interface.

I'd like to try using ASL as my wireless gateway/VPN server.
I've searched this forum for WLAN tips on using a wireless access point on a standard interface. I want to connect a Linksys WAP11 to the DMZ interface of my ASL box. I intend on using the windows standard PPTP VPN client to connect to the ASL machine and route my traffic from there. I can't however, find any real information on using a WAP on a standard interface (just connecting it via CAT5). Can I just connect it after configuring it?

    If I'm reading your post correctly I've done the same setup. All I did is put a NIC card in my astaro box before I built it. I put the NIC card on a different subnet and plugged my WAP into it with a cross-over cable. Then configured PPTP accordingly.

    That's exactly what I wanted to do. I just couldn't find anything in the forums regarding people doing this. Most of it is the PCI-PCMCIA adapter stuff. Glad to hear it works.
    Now I just have to hack my dhcpd.conf file to allow DHCP services on the additional NIC.

    You won't find any information about that with the keyword "wireless" because that configuration has nothing to do with that. For your ASL, it is completely transparent what kind of device you plug in via your network interface. So it makes no difference if it is a router, a cable modem or an AP.
