Hello there, I have a weird problem on setting up the ASL.
My hardware config is : Celeron 1GHz, 128MB SDRAM, 6.4GB Maxtor HDD, 1 Buffalo MX chipset LAN card, 1 Realtek 8139c LAN Card and a mainboard with VIA PLE133T Chipset.
The problem is: when I boot up with the CDROM, and then the setup problem runs and when it load to initrd......, then the system will restart automatically and this happen over and over again.
I've tried to type "classic" or "default noapic acpi=off" after reading some posts, it still fails. And I've done the following.
1. Change the CPU from 1G to Celeron 633
2. Change the RAM from 2 x64 to 1x 256
3. Change the HDD from 6.4 to 20GB
4. Disable the ACPI in the BIOS
5. Disable all the onboard devices such as modem , sound, USB, LPT, Com....etc
6. Download ASL again and burn it again
7. Try ASL 4.000, and it restart in the same way
8. Unplug all the LAN cards
9. Plug only the 8139c
10. Plug only the MX LAN
All of the above fails, so any experts can solve this problem? And anyone can recommend a workable mainboard for me? Please state the brand and model if possible.
Really thx a lot.
