Okies, well I installed Astaro Linux v4.008 from CD today, for the first time. It wiped the hard drive, installed everything fine, I selected time zones, which NIC is used for the administration and set the IP address on it (this is only a trial install, so I did not enter a gateway IP) and it installed everything fine (partiions etc)
It then said its all complete and I should remove the CD and reboot the system, then in a client connected box type in the IP in the browser to configure the unit...
Well, it rebooted, everything started with OK's (the only thing with a failed was the PCMCIA thingy), everything looked fine, it then comes up with the IP address and the login: _ prompt
Pings to that IP from other machines on that network shortly become available and are 0% packet loss, everything looks fine
Then a few bleeps come out of the unit (about 4 or 5 or them, short low tone bleeps), but the box is still pingabe and direct console access is still ok (I dont know what the login is though ?)
However, the webadmin feature on the client workstations does not work, it just sits there... I have tried a portscan on it, and it only find port 25 and 110 open.... what am I doing wrong ? Is there a default root password for this ?
