Help - ADSL shows as down but system connected !

System went crazy at nightly maintenance, over 200 emails generated, Accounting not running etc.

Now it appears OK but my ADSL interface shows as DOWN even though I can still access the box from remote !

I have tried rebooting and it still shows as DOWN, and I am accessing the box via the Downed interface !?! [:O] 

The only thing I've done that might cause this is I installed DynDNS on the box yesterday.  Would this cause issues ?

    Fixed.

    Cold reset of ADSL modem and firewall fixed it.

    Nope, it's happened again.

    Suspect it's DynDNS causing this issue somehow but I am unsure as to how DynDNS works.  Could it's polling ppp0 cause problems ??

    This is a very bad problem since now the system is totally unreachable [:(]

    OK it appears that ez-ipupdate is interfering with the resolver.
